CéU, (pronounced like "cell" with a soft "l" ), was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2006 for Best New Artist. Her music has been described as soul, afrobeat and electrojazz, but her roots are in Samba and her music expresses the modern urban São Paulo take on the Samba beat.
